Polyglyme (CAS# 24991-55-7)

Polyethyleneglycol dimethylether (CH2O(CH2CH2O)nOCH3)

An aprotic glycol diether with well extablished use as a gas scrubbing solvent, and as a medium for reactions and separations. Polyglyme is an ethylene oxide based solvent that it is aprotic (no hydroxyl functionality). As a result of its chemical stability, it can function as a solvent in reactions using basic initiators. The high water solubility and high boiling point allow for easy separation from reaction mixtures and recovery. Low VOC by 110C oven test.
